- Six Flags Adventure Are you planning on visiting the famous sights and sounds of New York City? Do you plan on visiting famous tourist destinations? If you will be traveling from at least one place to another, which shouldn't be too hard to plan in this giant city, a car rental in New York is your best bet for transportation that is convenient, relaxing, and personalized for you. If you have never been to New York City before, it is possibly the hustle and bustle capital of the world! There is never a dull moment, so be prepared for some New York excitement as you take on the Big Apple!
- Walking - While you will certainly want to get out and walk around some of the various tourist destinations in New York City, it is pretty much impossible to walk between all of them. New York City is a huge landmass that is made up of five different boroughs, which each have their own attractions and landmarks. Unless you plan on staying within a few blocks of one attraction, which would significantly limit your New York City excitement, walking is very unrealistic as a primary mode of transportation. In addition, the roads in New York City are extremely busy, which makes walking up and down and crossing crowded streets unsafe and slow. It is much better to drive your New York car rental to the various attractions and then get out and enjoy walking throughout them.
- Taxi Cab Service - While New York City has thousands of yellow taxi cabs throughout the city, it is very difficult to flag one down! The taxis are so busy that even if a taxi driver does not have a passenger in the vehicle, the car is probably on its way to pick another passenger up. Relying on taxi service is not only unpredictable and unreliable, but it can also be very, very expensive. When you step in the taxi you have already paid a flat fee, which varies between taxi companies, and then you pay additionally for each mile that you travel. When you are traveling up and down Manhattan or between the different boroughs, it is much more economical and efficient to rely on your own car rental in New York.
- Subway Systems - If you have a great deal of time in New York City, you can try to figure out the city' subway system in hopes of catching the right route and making it somewhere on time. But if your time is limited, which it is for most tourists and locals alike, interpreting the different subway routes can be extremely confusing. Be very careful or you might end up at the opposite end of New York City than you were counting on! The subway systems can be very crowded and also frightening for those who are not experienced subway riders.
- Public Buses - While public buses travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City, they can pose the same problems as the subway system does. You don't want to waste your time trying to determine which buses go where and which don't because there is too much to do in the City that is far more important and fun! It can also be quite frustrating when the bus finally comes and it is already filled to capacity, forcing you to wait again and try to catch the next one. You can eliminate this problem by renting your own car rental in New York.
- Personal Trolleys - When you are visiting New York City you will probably notice people riding bicycles with carriages attached, hoping to transport visitors from one destination to another. However, while this might sound convenient, you just have to hope that you will catch one as there are no determined meeting places or pick-up points. In addition, this method of transportation depends on the weather. You certainly wouldn't want to ride one in the rain or snow!
- Limousine Service - While it may seem luxurious to have a chauffeur pick you up and drop you off in a fancy limousine, this mode of transportation is unbelievably expensive. Although limousine service is expensive anywhere, the prices skyrocket in New York City. When compared with a car rental in New York, limousine service is far too expensive to measure up to the economic and comfort factors of your own personal car.
