When you visit New York with your Manhattan rent a car, you will not find any beaches in Manhattan, but there are many places that you can swim while you are here. If you are here in the summer, there are a number of outdoor pools, as well as indoor pools for you to enjoy. You can also hop in your Manhattan rent a car and visit some of the beaches in the surrounding boroughs.

Get out in the sun

The outdoor pools that you can visit with your Manhattan rent a car from the beginning of July until Labor Day. Most of the pools are open from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. There are a number of Olympic size pools in the city. The Hamilton Fish is located at Pitt Street and Houston Street. Highbridge is located at Amsterdam Avenue and West 173rd Street. Jackie Robinson is located at Bradburst Avenue and West 146th Street. Lasker is located at West 110th Street and Lenox Avenue. Finally, Thomas Jefferson is located at East 112th Street and First Avenue. There are also a number of smaller pools that are located throughout the city.

Looking for something on a rainy day?

If you are looking for something to do on a rainy day, or if you would like to get a swim in no matter what time of the year you visit, there are also a few indoor pools that are open to the public year-round. They are generally open from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The Asser Levy is at East 23rd Street and Avenue A. There is also an outdoor pool here, so the indoor pool is not open in July and August. The Carmine Street pool is located at Clarkson Street and 7th Avenue South. The East 54th Street is located on East 54th Street between First and Second Avenues. The John Rozier Hansborough Jr. pool is located on 134th Street between Fifth and Lenox Avenues. The West 59th Street pool is located on West 59th between 10th and 11th Avenues.

Take a little trip

If you are looking to hit the beach with your Manhattan rent a car, there are a number of beaches in the surrounding boroughs that you can spend the day at. Most of the beaches are open daily from Memorial Day until Labor Day, with lifeguards on duty from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. On Long Island, Robert Moss State Park and Jones Beach are great places to start. Jones Beach is a great place to spend the day as it is also a 2400 acre park that also has six miles of beach front. Rockaway Beach and Boardwalk in Queens is a seven and a half mile beach on the Atlantic Ocean. On Staten Island, South Beach, Midland Beach, and Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk are a great place to visit with your Manhattan rent a car.
