The Blue Note has locations in New York, Milan, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Seol, which make it arguably the world's most popular Jazz Night Club! Monday nights are reserved for local talent, while the rest of the week is devoted to showcasing some of the world's best Jazz artists. The Blue Note also offers Jazz Education and Enrichment Programs on Saturdays at 2pm, so be sure to take a little detour in your New York exotic rental car to check it out! Smalls Jazz
Open from 10pm to 8am this all night Jazz fest offers at least three different bands a night! Smalls offers 10 hours of soulful music from Monday through Thursday, and an amazing 12 hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! There is only a $10 cover charge, and you can bring your own drinks! Smalls also offers a free self-serve non-alcoholic beverage bar all night. Every Saturday there is an early bird show at 7:30, which is absolutely FREE! St. Nick's Pub
Without a doubt, St. Nick's has the best Monday night jam session in the entire city! With a tourist scene beginning at about 9:30, you can expect the party to really get jumping by midnight! The Sugar Hill Jazz Quartet and Patience Higgins are the two headliners every Monday, and they ALWAYS bring down the hours! Friday nights at St. Nick's belong to the Bill Saxton Trio, a long time favourite of St. Nick's guests! On Thursdays you'll be sure to hear St. Nick's very own singing bartender, Arlene Talley, and it isn't uncommon for some special guest artist to drop by; like for instance Stevie and Aisha Wonder! Village Vanguard
The archetype of Jazz in Greenwich Village is the one, the only, Village Vanguard Jazz club! It has all the right vibes and the best booking policy in the city. From Sunday through Thursday you can check out 2 sets, the first at 9:30, followed by the later show at 11:30. On Fridays and Saturdays the Vanguard also offers a 1:30 show along with the 9:30 and 11:30. Although this club has a pretty pricey cover charge ($25 Sunday - Thursday and $30 Fridays and Saturdays) it is definitely worth it!
