Well, if your concoction has been compiled in Queens, chances are good you'll create the annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival on Meadow Lake. This exciting event provides audiences with traditional Chinese food and performances, as well as hosting over 120 dragon boat teams from across the continent. One of the largest festivals of its kind, the Hong Kong Dragon Boat festival is an event the entire family can enjoy.

A look back: Humble beginnings

The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival began back in 1990. It was promoted and organized by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York City. The inaugural festival was held on the Hudson River and within Battery Park. Today, customers of Action Hybrid Car Rentals enjoy the festivities in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office remains a substantial supporter to the festival, however the celebration is now considered to be a non-profit company organized under the laws of the State of New York. Over the years, the festivals fleet of dragon boats has grown from just 4 teak boats to over 30 state-of-the-art fibreglass dragon racers. Popular teams have including Chinatown Y, Da Kamikaze Dragons and Puff Magic Dragon. A number of corporate teams have also entered the mix, including Prudential Financial, the Shanghai Commercial Bank and State Farm Insurance. Direction to the festival

Customers of Action Hybrid Car Rentals will find the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival at Meadow Lake in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens. Please note that parking permits are not available to the general public. Thus, customers of Action Hybrid Car Rentals must park at Shea Stadium and hop on the provided shuttle bus to the park. To get to the park, follow the Long Island Expressway to Van Wyck Expressway south, exit at Exit 11, then simply follow the service road until you get to the park. Special transfer buses will be operating from Shea Stadium to the Flushing Meadows festival site between 8am and 6pm.
The Honk Kong Dragon Boat Festival is an important event on New York's cultural calendar. The event takes place during August and is held rain or shine.
