Tunnels into New York City

The Lincoln Tunnel
The Lincoln tunnel runs underneath the Hudson, connecting New Jersey to West 39th Street in Manhattan and also 42nd Street. This point of entry will be very convenient to our travelling New York car renters since it is right near the midtown section of Manhattan where most of the hotels are located. (There is a 50-cent toll for the Lincoln Tunnel).

The Holland Tunnel
The Holland tunnel accommodates four lanes of traffic connecting Jersey City to Canal and Varick Streets in Manhattan. For our New York rental car drivers looking for hotels, the best route would be to follow Varick Street north, which will lead you to Seventh Avenue where you'll be able to continue north into the heart of the hotel district. (The Holland Tunnel requires a 50-cent toll).
