You are lying in bed sleeping when, suddenly, you feel a huge jolt. You feel the earth shaking underneath you and you wonder what is going on. Where is everyone? Why is everything falling over? You just want to know what is going on but you can't get out of your bed until the shaking stops because you will go flying across the room. Wicked is a story about the two famous witched from Oz. It shows the two very different lives of the good witch (Glinda) and the wicked witch (Elphaba). It tells the story of how Elphaba, a caring, passionate, loyal young woman turns into the Wicked Witch of the West. Her school roommate, Glinda, turns out to be the good witch and you will be taken along the life adventures of both. Wicked has an amazing cast and crew involved in its production and if you want to see a Broadway play that it truly unique, this is the one to see New York rent-a-car customers. Elphaba is played by Julia Murney who has been in many plays in the theatre as well as various TV shows like Ed, NYPD Blue and Sex and the City. Glinda is played by Kendra Kassebaum who has been in many plays throughout the years and was also a part of the Tony-Award winning Assassins. David Garrison plays the amazing role of the Wizard and he has been in many, many shows and productions, most notably Married with Children. Wicked is performed at the Gershwin Theatre on West 51st Street in New York. You can purchase tickets online at www.ticketmaster.com, over the phone or at the box office. The box office is open Mon-Sat from 10am-8pm. It is also open on Sundays from 12pm-6pm. Performances are on Tues. at 7pm, Wed. at 2pm and 8pm and Thurs. and Fri. at 8pm. They are also on Sat. at 2pm and 8pm and Sunday at a 3pm matinee. Tickets are $110 for orchestra, Loge and Front Mezzanine seating. Mid Mezzanine costs $75 and Rear Mezzanine is $50. Wicked on Broadway runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes with a 15 minute intermission. This play is only recommended for children ages 8 and up and no child under 4 will be admitted.
