Car Rentals In New York City and Douglaston Golf Course Queens

This par 67 golf course in Douglaston is a challenge, even though there are three par 3 holes. Located in eastern Queens, this course is easy to get to with your car rental in New York City. This course was at one time a country club on the highest ground in Queens, making the view from here a clear shot of Manhattan if the weather is nice.

The original course here was designed by architect Willie Tucker in 1927, and it was recently renovated in 2004 by Stephen Kay. Since the 1960s it has been a municipal golf course, and it is reasonable well-maintained. Coming here with your car rental in New York City will give you value for your money.

Getting here

To get here with your car rental in New York City, you have two choices. If you take the Grand Central Parkway, exit at 24, Little Neck Parkway and go north. Turn left on 61st Avenue, then left on Marathon Parkway. Keep left at the fork and the parking lot is on your right.

If you take the Long Island Expressway, take exit 32, Little Neck Parkway. Go westbound on the Long Island Expressway access road (Horace Harding) and turn left onto Marathon Parkway. Keep right at the fork and the parking lot for your car rental in New York City is on your right.

Golfing in Queens

Another great golf course in Queens is Forest Park, just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway with your car rental in New York City. This course has been recently renovated and is known for its tree-lined fairways, elevated greens, and three waterholes, as well as a similar view to that at Douglaston.

Not only does Queens have great golf, but there are also excellent courses in Brooklyn and the Bronx as well. Some of the courses that are open to the public include Marine Golf Course in Brooklyn, Split Rock/Pelham and Mosholu in the Bronx, and the granddaddy of them all - Van Cordtlandt. This was the first public golf course in the United States and it is still open today for rounds.

Many of these public golf courses are also located within the parks system in the city, so if you are traveling with people who don't golf but enjoy the outdoors, they may want to go along with you and explore what those neighborhoods of the city have to offer while you get a round in.

Douglaston was once a great country club, but today is a very nice public golf course open for all to use. While you are in New York, golfing within the city is easy here or at any of the other public golf courses. Reservations should be made ahead of time to ensure that you get what you are looking for!
