Features of New Yorks City Hall
New Yorks City Hall features a mixture of French Renaissance and American-Georgian Architecture, creating a visual feast for New York Discount car rental travelers. One of the buildings most impressive features is that of the statue of Justice atop the structures towering cupola. Unlike other sculptures in NYC, like the Statue of Liberty or the Civic Virtue monument, the Justice figurine was not the product of a famous sculptor. Justice is actually an example of nineteenth century manufacturing. One of multiple mass-production pieces, the Justice statue was fabricated by the William H. Mullins studio during the early 19th century, and would have cost approximately $600 at the time of construction. Composed of lightweight materials like sheet copper, the Justice statue was constructed much like the Statue of Liberty, soldered together and molded about an internalized armature. The Justice statue was recently restored as part of a significant revitalization project within City Hall, so be sure to get a good look at it during your upcoming New York discount car rental vacation.
